A washer that will not drain is usually a blocked pump filter, and that is often a coin, a hair grip or a sock rather than a fault at all. It is worth checking before booking anyone, and we will tell you how over the phone.
Bearings are the honest conversation. On most machines a bearing replacement costs a substantial fraction of a new washer, and on some it means splitting a sealed drum, which is not economic at all. We say so.

Why is my washing machine not draining or spinning?
A blocked drain pump or filter — coins, socks and hair — a failed pump, a lid or door switch that is not registering closed, or on a belt-drive machine a worn belt. A machine that fills and washes but stops before the spin is usually the pump or the switch. A front loader that will not drain is very often the filter, and it is worth checking before calling.
Why does my washer leak?
From the door seal on a front loader, from the hoses or the inlet valve behind the machine, from the pump, or from the tub itself. Where the water appears — front, back, underneath — narrows it quickly. Hoses are the one to check first and to replace every few years regardless; a burst supply hose does more damage than any other appliance failure.
